Posting this on behalf of our friends at the Pain Revolution
Pain Revolution is a collective of researchers, clinicians, consumers and peak bodies. We are working together to improve access to best practice pain care in regional/rural areas across Australia.
We are coming to Gippsland 2020
After another successful Tour through the beautiful Tasmanian landscape this year, we are happy to announce that we will be bringing the team to regional Victoria in 2020. Pain Revolution Rural Outreach Tour is an awareness-raising, fund-raising and community outreach event like nothing else. Starting in Geelong on March 7th and finishing Sunday March 15th in Wangaratta, we will be visiting Mornington, Wonthaggi,Traralgon, Bairnsdale, Omeo and Bright en route.
We will work with local and state organisations, alongside communities, to raise funds to upskill and support local health professionals to become Local Pain Educators, providing ongoing pain education and care to their communities from Geelong to the high country.
Join the Pain Revolution Polkadot Peloton in 2020
The cycling component of the Tour is critical for attracting attention, building camaraderie, raising critical funds to support Pain Revolution’s wider activities, spreading the influence of Pain Revolution, providing a proper physical challenge and an outrageously awesome cycling and educational experience. However, this is no normal ‘charity ride’. We are not just after CEOs with loaded mates. We have no celebrities to ride with, but we will have a peloton full of heroes. We are after people with some sort of skin in the game – a reason for riding in this tour. We want cyclists who share our vision, that all Australians will have access to the knowledge, skills and local support to prevent and overcome persistent pain; we want riders who resonate with our values – cohesion, respect, integrity & empowerment.
To register your interest to join the peloton, please complete the Expression of Interest form by 11 August via the button below.
Keen to get involved but NOT get on your bike?
This is a people-powered revolution! There are many and varied opportunities to get involved and help us create meaningful change in the lives of people living with or supporting people with persistent pain. We can’t do it without you!
